When was the last time you spent quality time with yourself? To sit with your thoughts and dreams? In my humble opinion too many of us live the rush-rush lifestyle and get zero time to connect and reflect. It’s super easy to observe that happening to OTHERS and avoid addressing in our own hectic life. ⠀⠀
I had a mindset shift happen this week. I faced my excuses. I’m busy a lot. Running from work to one committee or another to meetings, squeezing in a wimpy dinner as I drive down the road. I tell myself I have no time for Important self care cause of what I’ve committed to doing. Excuses. I have overextended myself and the number of hours that I have in my day leaving not enough for me and my family. Excuses. There’s time when you MAKE time Heidi. ⠀⠀ I’ve come to the sad realization that it’s easier for me to say YES to helping others than say YES to me. I think a lot of us do that. I don’t want to disappoint anyone. But in the process I disappoint myself. And my kids. And my hubby. They get the shell of me and not the core. ⠀⠀ Not any more. I’m going to learn boundaries. I have to for my potential to shine. Plus there is nothing more important than the health and well being of my family. ⠀⠀ The time I had alone this week has helped me realize I can absolutely help others as I love to do BUT I have to say NO more often and be okay with that. ⠀⠀ I say all this in the hopes that any of you that feel “too busy” also work to create boundaries and we help hold each other accountable. Sound good?
