LOVE YOUR HOME

Please use caution when picking out your cleaning products. Do you know how toxic the ones you use are?  Have you ever thought about it?

Picture
Chemicals can have a neuro toxic effect on our body, cause chemical burns, affect your breathing and cause hormone disruption.  That sounds bad, right?I hope so!  Switch to safer.  There are many more natural plant-based choices on the market.  I LOVE Thieves home cleaner by the Young Living company.  I use it to clean almost everything! I also like to make my own products and want to inspire you here to do the same.  A few safe, simple ingredients like water, baking soda, vinegar, borax, lemon                                                                                                                       juice, salt combined with a Magic Eraser sponge, brillo pad and your muscles can be very powerful stuff!

How do my products rate?
Have you ever considered making some of your own?

Window Cleaner

Picture
Grab a good quality spray bottle from your local garden section of a hardware store.  Fill 1/4 of the way with white vinegar,.  Add one drop of dish soap and fill the rest of the way with water.  Cleans windows and mirrors beautifully once you get the film off that Windex has been leaving for years.  You can scent it with essential oils to mask the vinegar odor.  I love citrus smells so a few drops and you are good to go.

Carpet Freshener

Picture
Grab a mason jar and fill 1/2 way with Borax and the other half with Baking Soda.  Add a few drops of your choice of oils to deodorize.  Pop on a shaker top.  Shake on carpet, rugs, car seats, floor mats, stinky sneakers or any area that needs a pick me up. Hate Borax? Just use all baking soda!  The Borax is a great addition if you need to scrub or make a paste by mixing with water.  It will offer a deeper cleaning action.  Car mats, car seats, couch, baby spit up, animal stains, urine on mattress...the list goes on.

Poo Spray for the Loo

DIY continues with a poo-pourri spray. The spray-before-you -go stench stopper. Do you have a partner who drops a bomb in the loo? Maybe it's you? Spritz this on the toilet water BEFORE you go and trap those odors in the bowl. This is a stink-fighting, non-toxic must. I carry one in my bag of wonders for on-the go help since a lady likes to be a lady.  recipe for 1 oz. bottle so adjust accordingly:

1) 1 teaspoon rubbing alcohol (can use vodka or witch hazel)-this helps oil and water from separating
2) 1 teaspoon vegetable glycerine (can use castile soap) -this helps create a thick barrier to trap the stink
3) 15 drops of your choice of essential oils. I prefer 10 lemongrass and 10 Bergamot. Maybe you like peppermint or how about a woodsy aroma? If that is not enough fumigate your feisty fecal funk, feel free to add more!
4) Fill the rest of the bottle with water preferably bottled or distilled water just to prolong the life of it since tap water isn't without fault
Number one Shake and spritz 5-6 sprays onto the toilet water BEFORE you go number two. This is not a room freshener but a stink trapper. Proceed with your bathroom needs then flush. The fumes are trapped and will go down the drain with the solid waste leaving him wondering does your poo really smell like roses after all?

Toilet Bombs

It is super easy to make toilet cleaner bombs.  Pop 1-2 in the toilet and let it fizzle.  Spray your home cleaner around the rim or use a squirt of castile soap.  Then grab your brush and scrub away!
