👚 I’m Doing the #declutterlikeamother challenge and sweeping through the closets tossing crap left and right. It’s liberating! Have you watched Marie Kondo on Netflix? She whips things into shape in a heartbeat. I’m on it! Don’t wish for it! Work for it!
We all want to live the good life, right? :: The good life is a combination of health, wealth, spiritual & human connection, and the pursuit of happiness. I want freedom for my family. And I want it MORE than I want to stay in my comfort zone. I am willing to learn what it takes to make this work: take classes, read books, pay attention to what my mentors say and take their advice, google, ask, whatever. TAKE SOME INITIATIVE. I hear all too often, “oh I WISH I could do that. I WISH I could be silver.” “I WISH I could get my act together.” “I WISH I could quit my job.” “I WISH I could eat better.” Stop wishing. Start believing. Start doing. How? Work on your biz. Develop a plan. It’s critical. Set your intention. Come up with that plan. Ask yourself intelligent questions. What is your goal? Goals don’t have to suck! Get out of the grind work. Ask yourself, How do I get where I want to be? I have no problem doing the work. Do you? LET’S GO! For real, how nice would this be?? I am swallowed by laundry, shoes, winter gear, backpacks, and just STUFF x 5 people. SEND HELP!
🌀 I have come to the conclusion that I’m bombarded with visual clutter daily. I’m swallowed with the to-do list that never ends. I lOVE to check things off the list. But the list is never ending. ✅ So I’m cutting myself some slack with what really will get done. And I’m actually tackling the mountains of bins that really just need to go. This is the year. This will allow me to free up my mind to be creative and really dig deep to grow where I want to be. To maybe finish that book, write that course and check more things off the dream board list. My #selfcare today is dousing myself in essential oils and snuggling with my kids. I LOVE #friyay as we relax as a family and enjoy #shabbatdinner together and a movie.

😕 My coworkers put this sign on my desk. A constant reminder to have many ways to kindly say NO. It made me snort laugh at first but has actually come in pretty handy. And thankfully these gals are fiercely protective of me and remind me to do basic survival skills like eat, drink and pee. 😕 Some days are hard but I’m doing pretty well leaning into the voice inside begging me to care for my own needs. Being present over perfect. I was inspired by something @msrachelhollis said the other day about decluttering your space around you. She said, “Set yourself up for success by working in a decluttered environment.”
♻️ Then a few days later I was mesmerized by the show with @mariekondo. Ok Universe, thanks for the reminder. ♻️ THEN I see the #declutterlikeamotherchallenge and was quickly reminded again I NEED to tackle this crap that is swallowing me in every room of my home! Old sippy cups are in drawers and no one has needed one of those for years! Toys for babies and random boxes of stuff to donate in every room. ♻️ I struggle throwing things away and polluting the Earth. I NEED to find the perfect person to give my stuff to. Ugh, it’s emotionally exhausting! I’m determined to #cleartheclutter once and for all! ♻️ So I did as the #declutterlikeamother first challenge said and started with the bathroom cabinets. You are not emotionally attached to anything stored in there so just THROW it AWAY and feel the initial liberation of that act. ♻️ I was SHOCKED to find baby proofing toilet locks (clearly hiding there for years) and several empty boxes as well as multiple bottles of 3/4 empty floor wax. Easy to dump that shiz. 1,2,3 GONE. ♻️ Next up, the dishes and this horrible Tupperware storage drawer where nothing matches. ♻️ ♻️ So it might seem like a strange form of self care BUT decluttering is going to be part of my plan of saying YES to more of my needs this month. Anyone else #decluttering?? Did you know citrus smells, particularly lemon, orange and grapefruit can help reduce stress and nervous tension? They boost your mood and bring joy back to your life!

What that means to MY family is everyone gets their spine evaluated. The kids see mommy check daddy’s spine and daddy work on mommy. They get to choose which parent adjusts them -perks of having 2 parents as chiropractors!!
🧘🏼♀️ It’s crucial my children know when something doesn’t “feel” right in their body. And the MOST important part is knowing what they can do about that feeling! What do you reach for when you don’t feel good? How about your kids? 🌱 Our family always turns to natural remedies first. The simple things like quality food, water, love and sleep. Then we rely on staples like fire cider, elderberry syrup, homeopathy, essential oils and our beloved bodywork favorites. Date night with my main squeeze!
One of my main goals this year is get back to the basics. And love is a pretty big staple in life. I happen to enjoy my hubby and we hardly ever go on a date anymore. Kids are fantastic but they have become our focus. It’s easy to lose yourself as a couple in that. So so we took a walk into downtown Salem and grabbed dinner at a local place. Then of course, when in Salem you MUST grab a fatty or 3. Fatties are code word for cookies at Goodnight Fatty. And we aren’t talking just any cookie. They are sinful, full fat, skimp on nothing kind of cookies. So my vow to myself of saying yes to ME and my needs included holding hands with my hubs. This was a good day and will be repeated more often. |
