Jan 1st. New Years.
What thoughts come to mind for you? Resolutions? Goals? Weight loss? Kicking a habit? All of the above? This year I vow to myself to do more self care. I’m a healer by nature. A problem solver for other people. As a pediatric chiropractor I help thousands of families. I solve their problems. That part is easy for me. But frequently I leave my own mental and physical health on the back burner. I don’t tend to MY needs. I ignore my bodies signals of fatigue, stress, hunger and being overwhelmed. I chose a focus word this year. It’s NO. I’m giving my permission to say no to more people so that I have time to say YES to me. Sounds so selfish when I write it. But it also brings tears to my eyes. I really do need to give myself permission. In the past I’ve committed to so many things to help other people that I find myself working 15 hour days, skipping meals and missing events with my children. I hate it. And every time I say, “why do I keep doing this?“ But the cycle continues. I wouldn’t want to let someone else down, ya know? I need to break the pattern. And so I commit to myself with a 30 day reset. Where I say NO to something else so I can say YES to something that helps my physical and emotional needs. Did you know it on average takes 30 days to learn to break a habit? And average of three months to stick to that habit. Follow along on my journey. I don’t normally eat all that crappy. BUT, this past week I’ve had more alcohol and more take out than I normally do all month! So it’s totally time for a reset. Day 1 is Purge. Just like you clean your house, you must clean and scrub your colon every now and then. So grab yourself a handy home enema kit and get down to business. I’ll spare you a photo! But it’s easier than you think. I prefer getting extra disposable tips too. You up can use pure water, organic brewed coffee (cooled down) or neem powder in water. If if you cannot imagine doing this to yourself and would rather go to a wellness center you can find them by searching colonic and your town. Trust me, just do it to yourself. Plus you might love it and want to repeat this frequently so you will want to have it at home. Lying comfortably on your own floor, releasing this pot of water in your own toilet and showering in your own shower. Follow the instructions it comes with or for or for a great laugh, YouTube it. Yep, there are people that will show you live them doing an enema. Not me. NO WAY. But I will tell you that you gotta clean your colon!
