Fine motor issues in your child?
Teach them handwork projects like crocheting and knitting! Schools used to teach Home Ec and they stopped years ago. Some would argue it has been to our children’s detriment. Current research shows a connection between fine motor skills, dexterity and brain development. It involves both sides of the brain!! ✅ handwork helps with eye tracking ✅learn your numbers as you count stitches ✅ Develop patience and perseverance since a handwork project takes time and we all know how impatient our society is becoming ✅ Materials used are often from the earth like sheep’s wool spun into yarn and dyed with onion peels or goldenrod flowers ✅gratitude for the earth’s gifts ✅social connection (all ladies groups are referred to as stitch and bitch for a reason!) ✅sense of pride in finished piece ✅ fiber arts stimulate tactile sense and repetitive movement is soothing! Or...just send them to a Waldorf School! It is a huge part of their curriculum.
